The Best Double Buggy Strollers
A double buggy is the best for twins who are due, or if you have two children of different age groups. The ideal double buggy is easy to maneuver and is able to handle rough surfaces.
They also have features such as large sun canopies, see-through hoods and seats that are adjustable.
1. Baby Jogger City Tour Double
The City Tour 2 Double is the smallest double stroller in the Baby Jogger range. It is designed for travel, and can fit through standard doorways easily with its ultra-narrow shape. It's also one the lightest double buggies available that weighs just 14lbs when folded. It's ideal for travel with a newborn and toddler since you won't exceed the allowances for luggage on airlines. It can also be folded up to the size of the size of a small travel bag which means you can put it in the back seat of your car.
The one-handed, Z-shape fold is easy to fold, it's incredibly compact when you've mastered it and takes only a few seconds to unfold. However our tester found the auto lock to be a little confusing. As the handlebar isn't locked into position when you press it, it hit her legs when she used it. She also felt the handlebar was a bit shorter than she would like particularly with a large changing bag hanging off of it.
As opposed to other light travel buggies, this doesn't skimp on features and is one of the most comprehensive double strollers available. It's compatible with two carrycots (available separately) It also has several recline positions and an UV 50+ canopy. You can put an additional bassinet to either or both seats to create a travel system.
The four rubber composite tires are ideal for pavements and urban terrain. However, they are not made for off-roading. They had a hard time with long grass and gravel and there was not enough clearance between the wheel bracket and the wheel and mud sank easily. Our tester loved this vehicle and was able to climb pretty dirt hills.

It's not as easy to use on public transport as it requires two hands to hold the handlebar. It is also bulky and won't fit in a standard car boot with the seat on, however this can be overcome by careful planning. iCandy have included the footmuff, changing bag and car seat adapters included in the price so this is an excellent value for new parents.

5. Nipper Double V5
The Nipper Double V5 from Out 'n' About is a new version of the award-winning all-terrain buggy. It's made for siblings or twins, and features independent reclined seats, compatibility with carrycots, and a light frame that allows for easy maneuvering on bumpy terrain.
The adjustable height handle and rear wheel suspension ensure a comfortable ride for kids up to 22kg. The tough pneumatic tyres, that are easy to clean, offer a smooth ride when jogging. The 360 swivel front wheel can be locked in place for easier manoeuvring around the city, and the single pedal brake is easy to use.
Our testers noted that the Nipper Double was incredibly easy to maneuver, even when walking on uneven ground or turning quickly in an area with a lot of traffic. They were also awed by the fact that both seats recline independently, meaning they can be adjusted to suit your individual preferences - perfect for napping.
They also appreciated that the hoods were able to be moved forward and back and back, making them much easier to adjust in the sun or for wind protection. Our testers did discover, however, that they didn't offer an extensive amount of coverage as similar to the Baby Jogger City Mini hoods and it's worth packing a rain cover just in case.
Overall, our testers were impressed with the Nipper double's ability to allow them to take their twin daughters Sydney and Lyla to all kinds of adventures. From exploring the forest for wildlife to rushing to the park for a playdate, they loved it. The testers were also awed with how spacious and comfortable the two seats are. There's plenty of room to stretch out for toddlers who are growing. The absence of parent-facing seating and the inability of using a car seats with this buggy were noted as a disadvantage by our test participants. They would have preferred a larger storage area for shopping and other equipment.
